Learning

Today I was in the Millennium Library in Winnipeg. It is the main branch. For a weekday I was surprised at the large number of people utilizing this public institution. I settled into a corral overlooking three floors to carry out some Canadian history reading and do some writing. What a satisfying sight seeing people of all walks and stations of life engaged in…learning!

A diabetic photographer

It goes with little saying that the best way to control diabetes is to keep your weight down. And the best way to do that is through diet and exercise. For the exercise part, I have found that it is easier if you combine it with something that you enjoy. As a photographer I have found that walking the walkways along Winnipeg’s many rivers, streams and creeks with my camera accomplishes the goal. On a Saturday or Sunday afternoon such an adventure ends in four or five kilometers. That may result in some excellent pictures. It also results in keeping the blood glucose in check. It seems like a ‘win-win’ situation to me.
